Frequently asked questions
1. What technology and equipment does my child need to participate?
Answer: Your child will need a desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook with a working webcam, microphone, and speakers or headphones. A stable, high-speed internet connection is also required. We do not recommend using mobile phones, as the screens are too small to view the curriculum activities and projects properly.
2. How will I receive the links to the virtual sessions?
Answer: Once you complete the enrollment form and your uploaded documents are verified, you will receive a welcome email. The secure virtual classroom links (via Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet) will be emailed to your registered address 24 hours before the first session begins.
4. What happens if my child misses a class or has internet trouble?
Answer: To protect student privacy, live sessions are not always fully recorded. However, if your child misses a session due to user-side technical issues or personal conflicts, we will provide a lesson summary and activity materials so they can catch up. We do not offer refunds or make-up classes for personal internet outages.
10. Who should I contact if we experience login or technical issues right before a class?
Answer: You will receive a direct technical support phone number and email address in your welcome kit. Our support team is online 30 minutes before and after every live session to help you handle passwords, link errors, or microphone problems.
7. Will there be homework or assignments outside of the live sessions?
Answer: No, all projects and activities are completed live during the designated program hours. Our goal is to provide a stress-free environment after the regular school day. Any extra reading or optional follow-up activities are completely voluntary.
3. Do I need to purchase any special supplies or materials?
Answer: This depends on the specific course module. If the curriculum requires a physical supply kit (such as STEM gear, art supplies, or workbooks), we will notify you in advance. The cost of the kit is included in your registration, and we will provide options for regional pickup or home delivery.
8. How do you handle cyberbullying or disruptive behavior in the virtual classroom?
Answer: We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, inappropriate language, or disruptive chat behavior. Instructors have full control over the virtual platform and can mute audio, disable video, or temporarily move a student to a private waiting room. If an issue persists, the program coordinator will contact the parent immediately.
5. How do you protect my child's data and privacy online?
Answer: We take digital safety very safely. All virtual classrooms are password-protected, and only registered students are permitted to enter. We strictly comply with child digital privacy regulations (such as COPPA / FOIP), meaning student data, login info, and video footage are never shared publicly without your explicit consent.
6. Can my children share the same computer if they are both enrolled?
Answer: We highly recommend that each student uses their own device. Sharing a screen makes it difficult for individual students to use interactive features like typing in the chat, completing quizzes, or unmuting to speak. If they must share, please let your instructor know before the first class.
9. Can a relative, babysitter, or secondary guardian log in instead of the parent?
Answer: Yes. Anyone listed under the "Emergency Contact" or "Secondary Contacts" sections of your enrollment form is authorized to log in with the student or receive program communications. Please ensure they are familiar with the technical requirements before the session starts.
